Start Seeing...

In the book of 2 Kings chapter 6, the king of Syria was making war against Israel. Elisha, the prophet knew the intentions of the enemy and informed Israel to be careful and not to go near the enemy territory. This saved many from the Israel camp but the Syrian king grew angry thinking one of his men was spying. To clear themselves they told the truth that Elisha, the prophet from Israel, can tell many secret things, even the words spoken in their bedroom. The fury got to the Syrian king even further and sent men to capture Elisha. Early in the morning, the servant of Elisha grew afraid and anxious when he saw horses and chariots surround the city and hurried to Elisha to report what waits.

Elisha said, “Don’t be afraid. The army that fights for us is larger than the army that fights for the Syrians”. Then Elisha prayed for something additional. “Lord, I ask you, open my servant’s eyes so that he can see. The LORD opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.” (Depicted from 2 Kings 6:6-17.)

Do not think anyone has been exempt from fear like Elisha’s servant. Fear attends to torment, cause agony, distress and grief. Our natural eyes quickly see failure, collapse, fatality or even death. All sort of anxiety and concern heaps inwardly almost to the point of paralyzing. Who did not suffer these misfortunes and adversities? Who did not experience an act of emotional seizure, face to face or any unexpected danger that blatantly wants to take us out?

We temporarily may suffer setbacks but divine influence is our forte, strong point and specialty. Just like Elisha, our eyes of faith must open and see, “God’s army bigger and superior than any opposition, hostility or conflicting power of the enemy”.

It is essential to correlate Old Testament events with the New Testament execution of continuation. Jesus said, “The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you”. (John 14:17 - AMPC)

When we start seeing from God’s perspective then we have a mission. God rescued Paul for an assignment. “And I will rescue you from both your own people and the Gentiles. Yes, I am sending you to the Gentiles to open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among God’s people, who are set apart by faith in me.” (Acts 26:17-18 NLT)

May our “spiritual eyes” be enlightened and cause divine influence over any given situation. God is on our side so understand HIS warnings to you. Battles we encounter in this era cannot be fought with our might and power, God will never leave you in the dark without information. With much watchfulness, find strategic ways to communicate His caution and warning. He formed and mandated you for this so “Don’t be afraid. The heavenly army that fights for us is larger than the natural army that fights for the enemy”.
