| Victorious Mindsets
Somethings trigger us to write on certain subjects that try to deride born-again sons and daughters of God. A student from our Bible College asked a question about being cursed because Noah cursed Ham and his lineage to slavery. (Genesis 9:20-28) These are good questions that are waiting for new convictions to break old mindsets. Noah cursed his son (Ham’s son Canaan) because he did not cover his nakedness but called his brothers and disclosed it to them. “Cursed be Canaan: the lowest servant he will be for his brothers. He also said, Bless the Lord, the God of Shem; Canaan will be his servant. May God give space to Japheth; he will live in Shem’s tents and Canaan will be his servant.” (Gen. 9:25-27 AKJV) This passes a customary attitude that the inherent Hamitic race will be cursed because Canaan was his son. To my amazement some still believe and validate this suppression and other practices of injustices. Though being born-again some still have this hidden concept that they suffer the effect of this curse. To define a “curse” is to pronounce sacrilegious and wicked expressions of anger to befall a person. It’s to wish misfortune, evil and doom to harm anyone under this recited formula. Simply put, something ill-fated and accursed. It is an essential focal point to break this mindset to understand the authorities and ploys of Noah’s curse. The good news is that in Jesus no born-again child of God needs to relive negative biblical drama as though the curse was not replaced. Negative continuity only happens when you allow it to take a hold on you. We have a bright future. You were not meant to live a life of abandonment, neglect and mistreatment. Even Cain, who killed his brother Abel, had the opportunity to repent and ask for God’s forgiveness but he chose a life of strife and division. We also know of great parents (biological fathers and mothers). They will step up the extra mile and make providence and even hide from others to afford certain items for their family. They make great spiritual examples to show their children the dynamics to lead them to The Lord Jesus Christ. They seek spiritual help in fasting and prayer to bring about the best in their children. These parents did not have the best when growing up. They suffered many shortfalls and gaps. They walked and worked the challenging roads to being the benefactor for their families. This became their greatest form of healing to make it happen for their children. I salute these parents for such an extraordinary model. God’s grace is upon you and the future of your children. Concurrently we are faced with children in our communities that have no parents and are adopted by foster parents. Some are raised by grandparents, aunts or may have other situations that children have to make it on their own. This article is more for them. We must avoid the implications that differ with words as race, colour, wealth or semblances. We have a new “identity” in Christ Jesus. Having the most productive biological dad still keeps one wanting to be adopted in Jesus. To absorb HIS distinctive character and create our own originality of who we are in HIM. Defeat and victimization will no longer be part of our DNA. Progressive Freedom In father Abraham came the summarized lineage of Moses, David and Jesus. This spells out sovereign autonomy. Herein lies the fact to eradicate humanism and focus on Mary’s conception by The Holy Spirit. “And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device” (Acts 17:26-29 KJV). The traits of our personalities may show some biological interests of good and bad of our parents but our heavenly FATHER holds our hands and leads us to maturity. “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (Romans 8:14 KJV). This includes the curse of the law, curses spoken over our lives, ancestral spirits of idolatry, false religion etc. have no legal right to maneuver our lives. Every ungodly covenant is annulled when Jesus said, “It is finished” (John 19:30). “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;” (1Peter 1:18 KJV). “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:” (Galatians 3:13 KJV) Destiny is not wishful thinking but is ever so present to complete the work HE has started. Never allow any present condition deprive you of the joy of knowing Christ and growing well-balanced in Him. “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: (Phil.1:6 KJV). “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers” (3 John 2 KJV).
